1.2.Tournament Venue:

The 1st African Grand Prix 2022 (WFKO) and 23rd Annual Karate Festival will be hosted on Saturday, 5th November 2022 at the Mandeville Indoor Stadium, 10th Street & 7th Avenue, Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg, Gauteng – S.A and will commence at 10am.

No aspect of this tournament event will run late and NO entries will be accepted on the day.

1.3. Accommodation:

Accommodation has been secured at the Mandeville Indoor Stadium, (10th Street & 7th Avenue, Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg, Gauteng – S.A). Our competitors’ rooms have been booked and paid for by the WFKO-AFRICA.

Please note that accommodation check-in will be from 12pm on Friday, 5th November 2022 and check-out on Sunday, 7th November 2022 at 10am.

• Should you require extra accommodation for a coach and or team members, officials and or spectators from your own dojo, then the accommodation must be booked and payments finalized through the Tournament Director (Shaun Burgess) by no later than, Wednesday, 26th October 2022. The accommodation is discounted to the WFKO-AFRICA at R250.00 per person per night with meals included.

1.4.Tournament Entry Fee:
1.4.1 Competitors main card Event:

Our six main card event competitor’s tournament entry fee is covered by the WFKO-AFRICA. Therefore, there will be NO competition fee charged to these fighters on the day.

1.4.2 Competitors (main card event) Coaches:

Only one coach per competitor will receive a free entry pass into the tournament event.

1.4.3 Officials, Judges & Referees:

Only registered Officials, Judges & Referees who have registered through the Tournament Director (Shaun Burgess) on or before Wednesday, 26th October 2022 will receive a free entry pass to the tournament event. The official, judge and or referee will be expected to officiate throughout the day at the 23rd Annual Karate Festival Event.

1.4.4 Competitors Tournament Entry Fee to the 23rd Annual Karate Festival:
All participating competitors from all styles and organizations have been given a discounted rate of R250.00 to

compete in the 23rd Annual Karate Festival and can enter 6 planned events on the day.
Competitors must be registered and tournament entry fees finalized by Wednesday, 26th October 2022, to ensure

that they have been placed in the correct divisions. Entries to the event will NOT be taken on the day of tournament.

1.4.5 General Spectators Entry Fee:

 

Non-competitors, which excludes the following, coaches, officials (judges & referees) and guests which include Organization Representative Heads will be charged R100.00 spectator’s fee. It is recommended that you do pre- order your spectator tickets through the Tournament Director (Shaun Burgess) at your soonest as we will only allow a maximum number of 200 spectators to the event on the day.

*Please kindly familiarize yourself with the above venue, accommodation & tournament entry procedures for you and your team to avoid any disappointments.

1.5. Awards:

1.5.1. Main Card Event Competitors:

Winners will receive a championship belt and a certificate. Winners will also be invited to compete at future Internationally organized World Fighting Kyokushin Organization (WFKO) professional tournament events held nationally and abroad.

Runner-up, will receive a commemorative plaque/ trophy and a certificate. Based on competition performance the runner-up may be invited to compete at future Internationally organized World Fighting Kyokushin Organization (WFKO) professional tournament events held nationally and abroad.

1.5.2. 23rd Annual Karate Festival Divisions Competitors:

Top three winners in each division will receive medals, 1st place GOLD, 2nd place SILVER, 3rd place BRONZE.

Final note:

We do expect our professional competitors to be at the various points at the various times given above to ensure that not only are you prepared accordingly for the weekend but that you are well prepared for your own bout.

We do expect all selected competitors to make weight on Friday afternoon at the official weigh-in at 5pm.

All tournament decisions are final on the day.
